Gombe State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP over the weekend suffered another setback with the defection of 70 of its members in Dukku Local Government Area of the state into the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.
The defectors, who were wards executives of the party in the local government said their defection to the ruling party was due to glaring developmental changes that they have seen in the area from the ruling APC government.
Receiving the defectors, the governor represented by his chief of staff Abubakar Kari Inuwa said his administration is people-oriented with a clear vision of bringing development to their doorsteps calling on them to convince more members of the opposition parties to join APC.
Earlier, the former PDP secretary of Kunde ward Liman Abubakar who spoke on behalf of other defectors said they were there to show their loyalty and support to Inuwa led administration.
