Civil Society Organizations, Others, Monitor Primary Healthcare Services In Anambra

The need for the government at different levels, communities, civil society organizations among others to synergize to strengthen the Anambra State primary healthcare system has been stressed.
These were the views of speakers at a press briefing organized by Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria Network led by civil society on Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition and the Anambra State Ministry of Health in Awka.
Speaking during the press briefing, the Anambra state programme officer, Civil Society for Malaria, Control, Immunization and Nutrition, Mr. Wisdom Jacob noted that the programme which has lasted about one month in Anambra goes into various communities to assess their primary healthcare centres, interview community members on how they receive medical services, identity gaps and challenges, use the information gathered to proffer solutions by engaging both the government and community members in order to strengthen the healthcare system.
The Anambra State Co-ordinator of Civil Society for Malaria, Control, Immunization and Nutrition, Miss Chioma Okeke, represented by Mr. John Ibekwe said that the gaps identified during the monitoring of primary healthcare centres will be prioritized for effective service delivery, improved accessibility, affordability and investments by communities and governments at local and State levels.
