Anambra State Government says it will use seventy-eight billion naira allocated to infrastructure in 2023 Appropriation Bill to fund two hundred and forty-three kilometers of roads awarded by Governor Chukwuma Soludo and for construction of more roads across the state.
The Commissioner for Works, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma disclosed this while defending the 2023 budget estimate of the Ministry of Works before the Anambra State House of Assembly committee on works in Awka.
Engineer Okoma told the committee that the emphasis of the Soludo administration is on provision of road infrastructure to fast-track rapid development of the state.
Commissioner Okoma added that the present administration also places priority on urban regeneration to make the state a livable, prosperous mega city.
He urged Ndi Anambra to see government projects as their own by taking full ownership of them to prevent theft and vandalism.
