2023 General Elections : Security Agencies Reassure Of Safe, Secure Environment..

The Armed Forces has re-assured Nigerians that security agencies are ready to provide safe and secure environment for the 2023 general elections.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, who gave the assurance while briefing newsmen shortly after meeting with service chiefs and heads of security agencies in Abuja, said the purpose of the meeting is to review security arrangements for the elections and develop action plans that will ensure peaceful exercise.

The Chief of Defence Staff warned all those who have plans of causing trouble during the elections to have a rethink. General Irabor also assured the citizenry that the security agencies will cover every part of the country to ensure peaceful elections, so that all eligible Nigerians can exercise their franchise.

He added that contingency actions had been taken to address areas with peculiar security challenges.

The meeting was attended by Service Chiefs, Inspector-General of Police, Directors-General of Department of State Services and National Intelligence Agency and the Chief of Defence Intelligence.
