2023 : Anambra CP, Echeng Reads Riot Act To Trouble Makers…

Ahead of tomorrow’s general elections, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police Mr Echeng Echeng has issued red cards to trouble makers who may want to disrupt the exercise to leave the state or face consequences of their actions.

Mr Echeng said that the command in synergy with other sister security agencies has put in place a strategic and comprehensive security plan being implemented under the umbrella of the Inter – agency Consultative Committee to ensure free, fair and credible elections across the state in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police.

He explained that the police will deploy personnel to the five thousand, seven hundred and twenty polling units across the state, provide adequate security for INEC personnel, polling materials as well as ensure a peaceful and conducive environment that will encourage voters to come out and vote without fear or apprehension.

According to Mr Echeng, the police have equally put in place Rapid Response Team in all the three hundred and twenty-six wards for prompt response to emergencies and will ensure strict enforcement of no movement that will commence by midnight today, while all state boundaries have been properly secured.

He made it clear that police personnel will not escort any politician to any place on the election day and urged politicians to play according to the rules and avoid acts that could threaten the security of the state.
