Anambra State Govt Commences Capacity Building Programme For ARTMA Officials At Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Council Area..

Anambra State Government has commenced a three-day training for officials of Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency, ARTMA, as part of measures to tackle the worsening problem of gridlocks and lawlessness on roads across the state.
The training, which is ongoing at the NYSC Orientation Camp Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, is led by the managing director of the agency, Engineer Emeka Okonkwo and aimed at ensuring that permanent staff of the agency and its one hundred and eighty ad-hoc officers are properly equipped with modern skills and best practices in traffic management and control.
Speaking at one the exercise , Engineer Okonkwo unveiled that the resource persons were drawn from the Federal Ministry of Transport, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA.
He also explained that the training will cover not just road traffic management but also human relations as the resource persons are expected to also draw from their wealth of experience working in public and private sectors.
According to Engineer Okonkwo, the reason for the training was to ensure standardization on the roads in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration in all sectors.
The ARTMA Boss assured the public that allegations of existence of touts in the agency have been taken care of as the agency, now, has accurate database of its workers, warning to deal decisively with any staff found wanting in the job.
On his part, the General Manager of the agency, Mr. Chidi Umezinwa, assured that staff of the organization are committed to ensuring that Ndị Anambra commute without stress.
