Anambra CP Urges Communities To Prioritise Security…

Leadership of various communities in Anambra State have been charged to make security of life and property a priority.
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State Mr Echeng Echeng who gave the charge at Nawgu in Dunukofia local government area during the inauguration of a refurbished security Van donated to the community by the Anambra State government described security of life and property as key to sustainable development.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Dunukofia Local Government area Mr Effiong Nda commended the leadership of Nawgu development Union under Prince Frank Nwegwu for achieving the feat and called on other communities whose security vehicles are no longer functional to emulate them.
Mr Echeng used the opportunity to charge those entrusted with security of life and property to desist from comprising crime and criminality reminding them of the need to synergize with the police and other professional security outfits to achieve more result.
In an address the President-General of Nawgu development Union Prince Frank Nwegwu said the transformation of Nawgu Vigilante group is part of efforts of the town Union government aimed at improving the living standards of the people of the community and called for the support of the people of the area to realize the set objectives.
Prince Nwegwu, who promised to key into the programmes and policies of Governor Chukwuma Soludo maintained that the Vigilante group of the community will be reorganized while various trainings will be introduced for them for effective service delivery in line with the ideologies of the Soludo administration.
