Anambra State Govt Commences Capacity Building Programme For Accountants In Civil Service…

Anambra State Government has commenced a three-day second quarter training for all Accountants in the state civil service aimed at building their capacities to guarantee effective financial management.

The programme, organized by the office of the Accountant General of the state, is holding at the Dr. Jerome Udorji state Secretariat, Awka.

While addressing the participants, Anambra State Accountant General, Dr. Chukwudi Okoli, charged them to always work with the laws governing accounting profession in their various ministries to achieve effective financial management.

Dr. Okoli expressed confidence that the programme will get them up to date in the field of accounting and prepare them properly to tackle the challenges they face while discharging their duties.

In her remark, the Head of Treasury Operations, office of the accountant general, Mrs. Angela Okoli, who spoke on the theme of the programme “Positioning Accountants in Anambra State Civil Service for Effective Financial Management’, assured that it will improve the skills of participants for effective service delivery in their various ministries.

Some of the participants, including Mr. Hypolite Udekaigbo and Mrs. Chibuzor Ejikeme, expressed joy that the training improved and equipped them with the current trend in accounting practice as well as reminded them the activities they forgot in the course of the work.
