Over 2000 Corps Members Commence Orientation Programme In Anambra…

The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has assured corps members posted to the state that his administration will treat them as critical national assets by ensuring the provision of their welfare needs.

Governor Soludo who gave the assurance during the opening ceremony of orientation course for the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members deployed to Anambra also assured them that adequate security for them shall be his topmost priority as security agencies are working in synergy and are constantly on ground to protect them in and around their lodges, places of primary assignments and host communities.

Governor Soludo represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Patrick Aghamba congratulated the corps members for being among lucky ones to be posted to the State and urged them to tap maximally from the content of the orientation programme.

On his part, Mr Aghamba explained that Anambra is one of the states that lead in virtually every sphere of human endeavor, including commerce, education, health, infrastructural development, Sports and entertainment industry and also a state that its citizens travel far and wide and believe in the development of the state of their residence.

He said that “One Youth, Two Skills” programme of the State Government under the Ministry of Youth Development is a sure way to empower them towards a meaningful and impactful livelihood.

The State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Mrs Blessing Iruma maintained that the scheme has the capacity that will take adequate care of the number of corps members deployed to the State for their national service.

Mrs Iruma who said that a total number of two thousand and five corps members, comprising one thousand and twenty-nine males and nine hundred and seventy-nine females have been registered and were already adjusting to camp life and activities, noted that they have accommodation for four thousand corps members, a capacity that can take care of large number of corps members but they have a total of two thousand and five corps members, adding that the number may likely increase.
