Anambra State Commissioner for Information Sir Paul Nwosu says Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has shifted into top gear the Ease of Doing Business in Anambra, as the goal is to move Anambra from Number seven to one in Ease of Doing Business ranking in the country for all indicators saying that it will undoubtedly further leverage the right kind of investment ambience that will propel prospective investors with the confidence to invest in Anambra State.
According to the Commissioner, the Ease of Doing Business project which was launched in 2002 and cascaded to the subnational levels in 2017 has been given a new lease of life by Governor Soludo to provide quantitative indicators on regulation for starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts and resolving insolvency.
Sir Paul, disclosed that in a bid to step up Anambra State Ease of Doing Business, Governor Soludo has with the consent of the Anambra State Executive Council issued six Executive Orders.
He said that on second November, 2023, Governor Soludo issued the Executive Order to expand broadband infrastructure for accelerated socio-economic development of the State which include right of Way charges pegged at one hundred and forty naira per linear meter by the Nigeria Communications Commission which is now reduced to zero naira per linear meter in Anambra State.
The Commissioner also said that the Governor also signed an Executive Order directing that all Fees, Procedures, Service Level Agreements, Grievances Redress Mechanisms, Advance Communication Rules to Individuals, Firms or Companies and Contact Information phone and email addresses shall be published on Anambra State official websites.
