Oyo Fuel Scarcity: NSCDC Threatens To Shut Down Stations.

As the scourge of fuel scarcity persists in Oyo State, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Sunday threatened to shut down fuel stations of members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, (IPMAN) who refused to comply with the N165 pump price.
It was gathered that some marketers are selling between N200 and N250 per litre, especially at night.
Fuel scarcity has made commercial motorists to increase fares by 100 per cent on intra and inter-state routes.
Speaking with reporters in Ibadan on Sunday, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Adarelewa Michael Akintayo reiterated the readiness of the corps to sanction erring fuel stations.
He disclosed that some marketers were taking undue advantage of the present fuel scarcity in the country to jerk up the pump price.
