Special Services In Anglican Churches To Celebrate Mothers’ Sunday

Special services were held in all the Anglican Churches across the world to celebrate mothers’ Sunday.
The Special Sunday celebrated in the communion every fourth Sunday in Lent length is to honor mothers for their roles in families and the society.
At the services mothers were in a joyful mood as they appeared in different uniforms according to their groups in the church.
The services were conducted by the women who read first and second lessons, and also acted as pastors and people’s wardens, sides women and other roles played in the church.
The women also sang and danced to celebrate the day.
At the Church of The Pentecost Parish, Ukpo, the Vicar, Reverend Canon Uchenna Umeifekwem whose message centered on the theme of the 2022 mothering Sunday ‘ Be strong in the lord and in the power of His might’ asked the women to live up to the responsibilities of spiritual mothers as there are many challenges confronting the society which the women need to stand firm to overcome.
Also, at Saint Lawrence the New Jerusalem, Nibo, Reverend Sunny David lamented the high rate of divorce, separation and single parenting in the society, urging mothers to hold on to the values Christian women are known for.
Special prayers, thanksgiving, social activities and other side attractions were featured at the services.
