JUST-IN: Tambuwal Pulls Out Of Consensus Candidate Arrangement
Written by on April 23, 2022
Sokoto State governor and 2023 presidential hopeful on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has pulled out of the quest for a consensus presidential candidate from the North, saying the arrangement had failed.
Tambuwa also faulted the report of the Prof. Ango Abdullahi-led consensus committee, which placed two fellow presidential aspirants – Dr. Bukola Saraki and Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed – as possible consensus candidate of the North in the 2023 elections on the platform of PDP.
A statement issued on Friday night signed by the Director of Organisation and Mobilisation of the Tambuwal Campaign Organisation (TCO), Nicholas Msheliza, said all the four presidential aspirants involved in the quest for a consensus candidate had earlier admitted the failure of the process, hence Saraki and Mohammed couldn’t have been pronounced as possible consensus candidate of the North.
