ASUU crisis: Buhari says N470bn provided in 2023 budget for salary enhancements

resident Muhammadu Buhari has said that the Federal Government has provided
N470 billion in the 2023 Budget for revitalisation and salary enhancements in the tertiary institutions.

The President said this when he presented the 2023 Appropriation Bill of N20.5 trillion to a joint session of the National Assembly.

Buhari said that the number of constrained resources was aimed at revitalisation and salary enhancements in the tertiary institutions.

He further said that the government remained committed to the implementation of agreements reached with staff unions within available resources.

On the health sector, Buhari said that the government intended to focus attention on equipping existing hospitals and rehabilitating infrastructure.

Buhari also said that the administration would continue to prioritise women’s empowerment programmes across various Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in 2023
