AIRS Seals Shops At Maria Modern Market Onitsha, Arrests Individuals Over Tax Evasion…

The Operations Unit of Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, AIRS, has sealed some shops at Maria Modern Market Onitsha and made arrest of individuals who failed to pay their taxes.

The team which was led by the Executive Director, Operations Unit, Dr Christian Madubuko also sensitized the people on the need for all taxable adults to comply to the law of paying taxes.

According to Dr Madubuko, some plazas failed to pay their taxes for two years now, describing it as a bad attitude which needs to be corrected as the government is doing all within her reach to develop and provide infrastructural projects that will benefit all.

Dr Madubuko explained that they sealed the shops with court order and warned that no one should tamper with it until they comply, calling on traders to help as the present administration meant well for them, advising traders to do the needful.

The Chairman of the market, Mr. Uzommili Onyeabor said many are complying, left for few who are hard end but with the enforcement, it will serve as a deterrent to others there by challenging them to assist Governor Chukwuma Soludo considering the massive road and other infrastructural projects going on in the state through payment of their taxes.
