Anambra Environment Commissioner, Odimegwu Wants Residents To Embrace Culture Of Cleanliness, Protect Environment…

The Anambra state Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Felix Odimegwu has asked Ndi Anambra to imbibe culture of cleanliness and avoid acts that can cause environmental havoc.
Commissioner Odimegwu made the call in Awka while speaking on the need for people of the state to key into the clean, green and sustainable Anambra initiative of the Professor Chukwuma Soludo led administration.
Mr. Odimegwu emphasized on the need for the state’s residents to see the cleanliness vision as a collective responsibility and not that of the government alone.
He regretted that the state is continuously losing land to erosion, an environmental challenge he attributed some of the causes to ill practices of people in the environment, including erection of buildings and dumping of refuse on water ways, among other anti-environmental practices.
Commissioner Odimegwu restated the commitment of the present government towards implementing measures to avert preventable environmental challenges facing the state.
Commissioner Odimegwu warned that the government of Professor Chukwuma Soludo will not take it lightly with people that flouts environmental laws.
