Anambra Lawmaker Umeh Asks NDLEA To Sustain Sensitization Of Youths On Dangers Of Drug, Substance Abuse

The chairman, Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Health, Dr. NnamdiUmeh has called on the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, to embark on continuous sensitization of youths on the dangers of drug and substance abuse to safeguard their future.

THE  legislator made the call while exchanging views with journalists in Awka.

While commending the activities of NDLEA nationwide, the legislator expressed worry that drug abuse was the major factor propelling insecurity in Nigeria and urged the NDLEA and stakeholders to help youths to understand that no one, who indulges in drug lives a successful life because it affects not just the user but the family and community at large.

Dr. Umeh, who assured that his committee will always partner the NDLEA and other relevant bodies to arrest the ugly trend, also called on Nigerians to support the campaign against drug abuse to win the battle against it and insecurity.
