Anambra police nab gang leader for alleged killings, arson…

Anambra State Police Command has arrested Nnamdi Frank Uwadiegwu-Obi, leader of a gang suspected of terrorising Nteje community in Oyi Local Council of the state, since 2017.
Disclosing this, yesterday, when protesters from Akaman’ato-Nteje stormed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Amawbia, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, said other members of the gang were on the run.
Echeng, who was represented by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Toochukwu Ikenga, extolled the protesters for their peaceful disposition and supporting the police to combat crime.
Earlier, spokesperson for the protesters, Onyeka Obi, identified one Uwadiegwu-Obi, Onyebuchi Boyoyo, and Ikefuna Onyeka, among others, that were allegedly turning the community into a war zone.
He lamented that the dastardly acts of the gang have gone out of hand to the point that victims and the entire community are in dire need of intervention.
Obi claimed that about four lives have been wasted at the behest of Uwadiegwu-Obi and his cohort, while unverified amount of money and property have been lost.
