Anambra State Govt Embarks On State Indigeneship Programme To Build Data Base Of Non-indigenes

In a bid to document the data of non-indigenes and achieve total safety of life and property, the Anambra State Ministry of Local Government, Community and Chieftaincy Affairs, has initiated a programme tagged “Anambra State Indigeneship Programme”.

The Commissioner for Local Government, Community and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne who disclosed this while interacting with Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, in Awka maintained that Anambra State Indigenship Programme focuses on obtaining and documenting complete data of non-indigenes of the state.

The Commissioner said that each community will register non indigenes in their respective domains, under what is called ‘Solu Digitization’, a system that goes in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s digital philosophy.

Mr Nwabunwanne noted that each successful applicant will be issued Anambra State Residential Master Identity Card to enable them participate more in governance and to also achieve adequate security in the state.

He said that the programme cannot be achieved without the partnership of Presidents-General and other community leaders in the state.

Responding, the leadership of Anambra State Association of Town Union commended the initiative, noting that it will help the current security responses in the State and pledged to support the ministry.
