Anambra State Govt Plans To Build Nursing School In Ekwulobia Axis…

Plans are underway by the Anambra State Government to build a nursing school in Ekwulobia axis to meet the health needs of the people.

The Commissioner for Health, Anambra State, Dr. Afam Obidike disclosed this while defending the budget proposal of the Ministry of Health before Anambra State House of Assembly joint committees on Finance, Appropriation and Health at the House of Assembly Complex in Awka. 

Dr. Obidike explained that the project will commence in 2024 fiscal year and when accomplished will accommodate the increasing number of candidates seeking admission.

Dr. Obidike spoke of the determination of the Soludo administration to build a medical diagnostic centre of international standards in the state that will handle cancer related cases as well as modify the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku Awka.

The Commissioner went further to say that Ekwulobia, Umueri and Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospitals which are being upgraded by Anambra State Government will also receive more attention among others.

On his part, the Chairman, Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Health, Dr. Tony Muobuike lauded the commitment of Governor Soludo to improve all aspects of healthcare delivery in the State and expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Ministry of Health in 2023 fiscal year.
