The Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Mrs Patricia Igwebuike has restated the resolve of the Ministry to ensure safety on the roads across the state.
Mrs Igwebuike who said this while speaking with newsmen in Awka, urged Ndi Anambra to observe traffic laws and regulations.
The Commissioner explained that motorists should avoid indiscriminate loading and offloading of vehicles on unauthorised sections of the roads and highways.
She maintained that people’s safety on the road remains top priority of government, cautioned against trading on the roads and other similar activities that could cause traffic congestion.
The Commissioner directed owners of abandoned, broken down vehicles and other wreckages on roads to remove them immediately in order to ensure safety of road users, while urging motorists to avoid drinking while driving.
