Atiku Returns From UK Trip

Ahead of the February 25 presidential election, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom.
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had travelled to Dubai from where he went to the UK for meetings with key government officials.
Media aide to the ex-Vice President, Paul Ibe, confirmed Atiku’s arrival on his Twitter handle on Monday.
Atiku was accompanied by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, and his Sokoto State counterpart, Aminu Tambuwal.
Others included former Kogi senator, Dino Melaye; former National PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus; ex-Aviation Minister, Osita Chidoka; and former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
The PDP flagbearer left for the UK on Monday for a meeting with the British government.
The former vice president had stated that his trip was for the purpose of having “critical meetings that will build the necessary bridges in our quest to recover Nigeria.”
He used the opportunity of the trip to meet with the UK’s Minister for Development and Africa in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Andrew Mitchell, among other key senior UK government officials. Atiku also solicited their support in helping Nigeria recover every facet of its life.
