Bobrisky: Institutional issues will be addressed, no one will be shielded – Tunji-Ojo vows

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has addressed the saga involving popular cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky.

The incident, which centers around allegations of preferential treatment during Bobrisky’s jail time, has sparked discussion about systemic issues within Nigeria’s institutions.
Bobrisky, who recently served jail time over naira abuse, claimed in a viral audio clip that he had paid certain officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) to secure special privileges while in custody.
Tunji-Ojo, while speaking on Tuesday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today, highlighted the broader implications of the incident, calling it a “reflection of institutional issues.”

He explained the disciplinary procedures involved in addressing such allegations, stating, “There are disciplinary procedures; you have to go through the board; you don’t just take action. Of course, somebody as high as an ACG who was found culpable of giving those verbal instructions in this regard has been suspended.

The minister confirmed that a report has been submitted to the appropriate board, and a copy has been shared with the NCoS to initiate disciplinary actions.
