CODE Anambra Skill Acquisition Programme Inaugurated In Awka… 

Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has asked youths in the state to endeavour to learn one or two skills under the numerous ongoing skill acquisition training schemes of the Professor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration.

The Deputy Governor made the call in Awka during the flag-off ceremony of Code Anambra, a four month skill acquisition training for youths in the state.

Deputy Governor Ibezim explained that the present administration is committed to ending youths’ restiveness and unemployment through provision of good opportunities for the teaming youth; including the training schemes and empowerments.

He urged the beneficiaries of the ongoing CODE Anambra skill acquisition training to value the opportunity given to them by the state government for their own good and that of their families.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation, Mrs. Chinwe Okoli, who disclosed that only two thousand applicants out of the total ten thousand persons that applied for the training; which was done online were selected, encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the opportunity by preparing themselves for learning throughout the four months training in order to be self-reliant and employers of labour upon graduation.

She noted that the idea of the programme is to get the youths off the street and make them able to cater for themselves and families independently.
