FG decorates new CG immigration, six DCG, demands monitoring of Nigeria’s borders… 

The federal government has demanded the close monitoring of the nation’s borders against foreign aliens following the decoration of the newly appointed Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Mrs Adepoju Caroline Wura-Ola with her new rank.

The government said modern technological devices and other sophisticated gadgets should be deployed by the NIS to keep the country safe and secure.

Six newly appointed Deputy Comptrollers-General of the NIS were also decorated with their new ranks at an event attended by associates, family members, and top officers of the NIS.

With the approval of her appointment by President Bola Tinubu on December 4, and her confirmation, Wura-Ola becomes the 18th substantive Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service and the third female CG to be so appointed by the Federal Government.

Wura-Ola who hails from Ondo state has been serving as CG in acting capacity since 1st June, 2023.

The minister of interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who decorated the CG and DCGs of the NIS late Wednesday in Abuja with their new ranks, charged them to see their elevation as a call for more work, insisting that the country should be safe and secure under their watch without fear of illegal migrants.

The Minister who drew their attention to the enormous task ahead of them, asked the elevated officers to be more dedicated to their duties by giving their best at all times to the Service of the country.
