Five burnt to death as vehicles catch fire in Anambra

Five persons, including three women, were on Wednesday burnt to death in an accident along Awka-Enugu expressway, Anambra State.
The crash, which occurred at Nawfia around 6.30am, involved two vehicles, a Toyota Highlander and Hiace Bus with five persons on board.
The newsmen gathered that the bus driver was trailing behind the Highlander when he suddenly lost control while on top speed and rammed into the vehicle.
Both vehicles reportedly caught fire immediately.
Confirming the incident, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adeoye Irelewuyi attributed the crash to speeding.
He said the fire had been put out by officials of the State Fire Service.
He condoled with the deceased families, warning motorists in the state to avoid speeding and ensured they kept to recommend speed limit.
“According to eyewitness report, the bus driver was on speed, lost control, and rammed into the Highlander from behind, crashed and the both vehicles caught fire.
“5 (2male adults, and 3 female adults) were killed (burnt completely).
