Former Governor Mbadinuju Begins Final Journey As Anambra State Govt Holds Valedictory Session In Awka…

Anambra State Government Executive Council has held a valedictory session for the former Governor of the state, the Late Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju.
The event was held at the Government House, Awka.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo during the session, said former Governor Mbadinuju devoted four years of his life in the service of Anambra, laying some basic foundations for the state as it is today, manifested in the establishment of Anambra State University, Ekwueme Square, Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre and roads, among other legacies.
In their various speeches, former Governors Peter Obi and Dame Virgy Etiaba prayed to God to grant him eternal rest in his kingdom and to all those who mourn him, the fortitude to bear the loss.
In an interview, the Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye and Senator Uche Ekwunife described the late Mbadinuju as an unsung hero who was defined based on one unfortunate story, adding that history will be kind to him.
They said that even with meagre resources, Dr Mbadinuju was able to achieve so much, which explains the honour by the state.
Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Anambra State Chief Judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor , Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, President General of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, Barrister Titus Akpudo, among others, attended the event.
Late Dr. Mbadinuju who passed on at age seventy-seven, was Governor of Anambra between 1999 and 2003.
