Minister orders reopening of Dei -Dei market

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Bello, has approved the reopening of Dei – Dei international market on Friday.
Five persons were killed penultimate Wednesday and several injured following a clash between commercial motorcyclists and traders at the market.
Bello took the decision during a meeting with traders, community leaders, security operatives and officials of the FCT Administration.
The calamity started when an unidentified woman was crushed by a long vehicle after falling off a commercial motorbike.
Timber and building materials traders in Dei-Dei community few days ago appealed to the FCT Minister to reopen the market to protect their livelihood.
Security operatives also arrested 15 suspects after raiding a forest near the market.
