Monkeypox: FG cautions Nigerians, urges adherence to safety measures

The Federal Government has warned Nigerians not to take likely recent outbreak of the monkeypox virus.
It also called on the general public to take proactive measures to prevent and stop the spread of the virus in the country.
Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Biosafety Management Agency, NBMA, Dr. Rufus Ebegba, who gave the warning in a statement yesterday, said due to the current spread of the disease, it was important for the general public to take drastic steps to stop further infection and spread of the disease.
Ebegba advised that it was essential to adhere strictly to public health safety measures and report likely cases of signs and symptoms to a health facility nearest to you.
