Mrs Soludo Commends Achievements In Anambra State Health Sectors…

Wife of the governor of Anambra State, Nonye Soludo, has assured that with the current strategic engagements and interventions in the state’s health sector, death of mother and child would be effectively reduced in the shortest time.

Mrs. Soludo, who was speaking in Awka, explained that so far, the state has made significant progress on policy implementation, including recruitments and training of health professionals in different health facilities in Anambra State on the best service delivery.

The Anambra Governor’s Wife, noted that the present administration took into account the need to urgently intervene in primary health care efficiency, and has made commendable investments in the state’s health sector and rehabilitated public health facilities that were previously non-functional.

She stated that with present interventions in all the over six hundred primary health care centers across the state, government is making strategic efforts to ensure that every public health facility offers efficient services , especially to those in the rural areas.

Mrs. Soludo also explained that having rehabilitated some general hospitals in the state to meet world class standards, the state government has made both primary and secondary health care services easy for every resident of the state.

She described the introduction of telemedicine and emergency ambulance services into the state’s health sector as proactive, noting that what makes all the intervention measures significant is their affordability, efficiency and patient-friendliness.

The Anambra first lady also explained that apart from providing specific health plans for women and children, the state government has also offered free treatments for cervical cancer, cleft lip and palate, vaccination against Rotavirus, Measles, Lassa fever and other infant killer diseases.

She further stated that strategic relationships with international development partners like the World Health Organization, WHO, European Union, EU, and the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, among others, have yielded immense results and are helping the state to meet up with basic targets of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.
