MTMPN Holds Road Walk away At Amawbia To Mark International Day For African Traditional Medicine

The Modern Traditional Medicine Practitioners of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter trooped out en- mass on a road walk at Amawbia to mark the International Day for African Traditional Medicine. Members of the Association held herbs depicting their profession, walked around roads in Amawbia and environs sensitising people on the importance of the day and their activities.

African Traditional Medicine Day honours and promotes the important roles medicinal plants and herbs play in improving health and well-being of the people.

The National Task Force Chairman of the Association Mr John Ibeka said the day is important in recognising the contributions of traditional medicine in tackling health challenges.

Mr Ibeka explained that members of the Association were properly screened

with necessary orientation to work within the laws and regulations guiding their prakctice as directed by the state Ministry of Health to assist Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration achieve its vision on health.

In their separate speeches, the National Financial Secretary of the Association Prince Joseph Otiugo and National Woman Leader, Mrs Felicia Okonkwo called for Unity of purpose for them to achieve their goals.
