Ndi Anambra Aberdeen Visit Education Commissioner, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh…

A delegation of Ndi Anambra Aberdeen has visited the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh. Ndi Anambra Aberdeen is an organization of Anambra indigenes who live, work and study in Aberdeen, United Kingdom.

Speaking through Prof. K. K. Nwozo, the delegation which includes Bar. Chidi Ameze and Mr. Nzube Achebe, stated that they were in the Commissioner’s office to discuss one of their projects in support of Anambra State Government.

The group had earlier instituted a scholarship program for indigent but brilliant children from public primary schools, who would be admitted into public secondary schools in Anambra State.

Each of the beneficiaries according to the group, was selected from the best in Transition Placement Examination, from the three senatorial zones in Anambra State.

In a statement released by Mr Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education,
the project which commenced 2016/2017 academic session has gone into the next round, while the pioneer beneficiaries received their final grant in 2022.

The Ndi Anambra Aberdeen also has a project to partner with the Government in the promotion of Igbo language and culture by endowing prizes for the best Igbo graduates in Anambra State tertiary institutions.

Welcoming the group, the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh expressed delight that the laudable programs of the Soludo led administration in Anambra State has elicited the support of Anambra indigenes in the diaspora.

Commissioner Chuma-Udeh enjoined other Anambra Diaspora groups and well meaning Ndi Anambra to emulate the Ndi Anambra Aberdeen and support the Government to reclaim the enviable position of Anambra State in Education.
