Nigerian Troops Recover More Stolen Petroleum Products Across The Country

Directorate of Defence Media Operations says Nigerian troops have recovered one million one hundred and seven thousand four hundred litres of stolen crude oil, four hundred and fifty-six thousand four hundred and fifty litres of Automotive Gas Oil as well as six thousand two hundred and fifty litres of Petrol during operation in different parts of the country between May and second June, 2022.

Addressing journalists at its bi-weekly press briefing on the operations of the Armed Forces the Police and other Security Agencies, the Director Defence Media Operations, Major-General Bernard Oyeuko, said troops also discovered and destroyed forty illegal refineries, one hundred and sixty-five metal storage tanks, seventy-two ovens, twenty-three dug out pits, five wooden boats, six trucks, three outbound engines, one AK 47 rifle in raids within the period.

The Director Media Operations said the security situation across the six geo-political zones of the country remains dynamic but there has been sustained efforts to build on the successes achieved so far.

Major General Oyeuko, commended the support of the Media, its show of professionalism in carrying out its duties, and for being objective and unbiased in reportage.

He noted that National Security is a collective responsibility urging the citizenry to remain supportive as that is the only way to ensure a united, peaceful and prosperous nation that will be a source of pride to all.
