Obiano Inaugurates Anambra International Convention Centre Awka , Presents Awards To Anyaoku, Igwe Achebe, Former Governor Obi, Others

Anambra International Convention Center, Awka has been inaugurated for public use.

The main auditorium at the edifice has ten thousand sitting capacity, with other features and amenities

The inaugural ceremony coincided with various presentation of awards to the Governor’s team and key stakeholders.

Governor Willie Obiano while performing the ceremony recalled and appreciated the support he enjoyed from Ndi Anambra and beyond.He explained that Anambra State law of 1995, empowers him to categorize the awards, noting that the awards to deserving and distinguished Ndi Anambra will encourage and motivate them and others.

Former Commonwealth Secretary-General and Chairman on the Occasion Chief Emeka Anyaoku who said that Governor Obiano is a wonderful partner in action and history, described him as one of the leaders that Nigeria has ever had.

While stating that Anambra is on a journey to higher development trajectory, Chairman Anambra State Traditional Rulers’ Council, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe of Onitsha said that Ndi Anambra are celebrating the Governor for leading the State most successfully within the past eight years.

A one hundred and eighty-four paged, fifteen chapters book titled “Akpokuedike, Duty Call in Anambra”, authored by Mr. Ike Chioke was also unveiled at the event.

some of the awardees including the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Chief Ifeatu Obiokoye, Special Adviser to the Governor on Creative Security, Retired Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Dr. Uche Nworah thanked the Governor for the honour.

Distinguished Anambra State Grand Commander award was also given to some people including Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, Former Governor Peter Obi, Dr. Ebelechukwu Obiano, Senator Victor Umeh, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, Senator Ben Ndi-Obi, Chief Clem Nwogbo, among others, while the popular Anambra-born music mastro, Flavour trilled the audience.
