The Governor of Rivers State, Mr Nyesom Wike says insecurity is seriously undermining the economy of the country.
Addressing members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Awka, Mr Wike, who is a Presidential aspirant of the party in the 2023 General elections, urged party delegates to elect a candidate with courage to contest against the ruling party.
Wike said any credible candidate should prioritise security of lives and property of the people in order to attract investors and promote socioeconomic activities, regretting that presently, agricultural activities have been disrupted by insecurity, thereby threatening national food security.
He urged members of the PDP not to leave anything to chance in the struggle to wrestle power from the ruling party, but to present a candidate with ability, experience and self confidence to win election.
