SON kicks off conformity assessment

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has commenced the regulation of conformity assessment to establish registration and regulation for National Standards, Standard Marks, Certification Systems and Licences.
Its Director-General, Farouk Salim, spoke at the inauguration of an Impartiality Committee to monitor and guide the National Registry of Conformity Assessment Practitioners (NRCAP) in Abuja.
He noted that the committee is set up to ensure that management system standard implementation, product testing and certification are in compliance with international best practice.
