The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said that the power outage currently being witnessed by the people of Anambra State, particularly those residing within Awka and its environs, was as a result of a mishap that cut off its 132kV line at Nofia axis.
In a statement yesterday, TCN’s General Manager Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, explained that it had mobilised its quick response crew and requisite materials to the site of the incident through the management of the Enugu Region of the company.
“This is aimed at repairing the line and possible restoration of power supply in the shortest time possible.
“We sincerely regret the inconveniences this will cause the customers of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) who receive power supply from the Awka substation.
“TCN assures that repair works are being expedited to ensure quick restoration of power to the affected areas,” the statement added.
