Yuletide: Mrs Soludo Urges Nigerians To Promote Love… 

As preparations for Christmas gather momentu, the wife of the Governor of Anambra State Mrs Nonye Soludo has called for sober reflection and return to the traditional purpose of the celebration, which is hinged on love.

Mrs Soludo stated this during the Aguata Christmas Carol at the local government headquarters Ekwulobia .

Addressing the people who gathered for the event, Mrs Soludo explained that Christmas will not be complete without promotion of love, pointing out that the birth of Jesus Christ stands for compassion, humanism and joy.

She charged the people to ensure that they put smile on the faces of the les privileged, starting from their poor neighbours and suffering relatives.

The governor’s wife, who noted that while Christmas is a time of great joy, cautioned the people against bad eating habits, and urged traders against selling unhealthy food while urging consumers to be careful about what they eat during the celebrations.

Earlier in his Christmas message, the Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Peter Cardinal Okpaleke, explained that Christmas is a customary feast for divine appreciation.

He noted that Jesus Christ, whose birth is being celebrated, lived a humble, holy and modest life, laying foundation for what the period represents.
